There isn’t one style that fits all, and you may need to adapt your leadership style depending on different situations, and for different people. Understanding your leadership style and its effect on the team is an important step in finding ways to improve results. Managers often lead based on one primary leadership style, but learning to use other styles for different situations can help leaders adapt.

Ask your team for feedback on your leadership style. What do they want more of from you? Consciously switch styles and notice the difference it makes to those around you.

Ask for feedback: Get 3 people to give you feedback on your leadership style. Share this exercise sheet with them and ask them to give you scores for each style. Make sure you talk to them about it to get the context of the score - they might interpret each style differently to you.
